Two weeks into the season, and the panic (or overconfidence) is already setting in. Smart managers know this is prime trade season. Here’s who you should be targeting and flipping right now.
Buy Low Candidates:
1. Julio Rodríguez (OF – SEA)
The slow start is frustrating, but don’t be fooled, his metrics look strong, and the breakout is coming. If his manager is getting impatient, make a move.
2. Spencer Torkelson (1B – DET)
He’s crushing the ball but right at people. The power surge is coming, and you might be able to grab him on the cheap before it does.
Sell High Candidates:
1. Brandon Lowe (2B – TB)
Lowe is off to a hot start, showcasing his power early on. However, his history of streakiness and injury concerns suggest now might be the perfect time to sell high before any regression or health issues arise.
2. Andrew Heaney (SP – TEX)
He’s piling up Ks and looking sharp, but his track record and injury history make him a risky hold. Flip him for a more stable starter while the value’s hot.
Don’t trade based on emotion—trade based on trends. Use expected stats, underlying metrics, and a little bit of patience (or exploitation of someone else’s lack of it).
Check back next week for more trade targets, waiver wire gems, and all things fantasy.
