Here’s this week’s edition of Studs and Duds featuring standout and underwhelming fantasy performances from the past week:

STUDS

1. Aaron Judge – OF, New York Yankees

Judge continued his torrid start to the season, becoming the first player in MLB history with at least five home runs and 15 RBIs in his team’s first six games.

2. Cal Raleigh – C, Seattle Mariners

Raleigh homered in three consecutive games, contributing significantly to the Mariners’ sweep of the Texas Rangers. 

3. Logan Gilbert – SP, Seattle Mariners

Gilbert delivered a strong performance against the Rangers, pitching five innings, allowing one run, and striking out seven batters.

DUDS

1. Carlos Rodón – SP, New York Yankees

Rodón has struggled in his expanded role due to injuries in the Yankees’ rotation. Despite his talent, he’s been inconsistent, allowing two home runs in his latest outing against the Giants. The Yankees have lost three of his four starts this season. 

2. Rafael Devers – 3B, Boston Red Sox

Devers has been underperforming, contributing to the Red Sox’s offensive struggles. The team lost three out of four to Toronto and dropped two of three to the White Sox, with high strikeout rates and a lack of power being significant issues. 

3. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – 1B, Toronto Blue Jays

Guerrero is hitting .218 with three home runs and 10 RBIs, posting the highest strikeout rate of his career. His underperformance has been a concern for the Blue Jays’ offense. 

4. Corbin Carroll – OF, Arizona Diamondbacks

Carroll is batting .189 with one home run and five RBIs. His average exit velocity has dropped significantly, raising concerns about his performance.
